It’s A Rainy Night in Georgia Port Harcourt

Ok, it rained again today. I mean really rained. I mean sumthin’ fierce. Not all was bad though because we left work 30 minutes early so we wouldn’t get bogged down in traffic. If you think people can’t drive there when it rains (especially Houston) you should see them here. It’s utter chaos. Anyway, there isn’t much chaos in the video below but I think you’ll find it interesting nonetheless.

It’s another boring night here. Only a few more to go. My relief still doesn’t have his visa which is a little troubling in my otherwise bright & cheery future. He’s supposed to be here Friday so we have time to go over everything. Only problem is I’ll have to do my real job all day and going over everything is going to be almost impossible. Good luck new dude. Sink or swim is what I always say. ;-)

Other than that, all I’ve been doing is downloading new software to try out. All freebies of course. I got iTunes 8.0. I’m not all that impressed. It’s not bad, just not an evolutionary step forward. I got the new Google browser called Chrome. I am impressed with it. It’s super fast, nice and small, and doesn’t get in your way like so many others. I also downloaded the Opera browser, which is what i’m using right now to create this very post. It’s similar to FireFox in some ways and has a few bells and whistles I wanted to try out. Finally, there’s Picasa3. I might have said this before but just in case you missed it… IF YOU’RE NOT USING PICASA & YOU HAVE A DIGITAL CAMERA YOU’RE MISSING THE BOAT.

Anyway, that’s about all I have for today. Over & out.

POTD#Don’t Know

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! I had one that was typical of being in Wichita Falls, uneventful! I did however have some really good photo ops. Here are two that I would like to share with you all. Of course, there will be many more to come.

Something to make you giggle: On the way back to Houston (boys will be boys!)

From Labordayweekend

Something to make you hungry: My uncle and aunt made me lunch (Brisket Bolio and fixin’s)

Here We Are!

It has been a long few days! So much going on here. Most of our energy has been spent on baby sitting and traveling to Wichita Falls to pick up James from his summer vacation. We are now a full house, minus Dad. This was Gabby’s first road trip. She did really well. We only added an extra 30 minutes to our trip’s normal time. She must love being on the open road, even if that road leads to Wichita Falls. True to her nature, Gabby loved being around new people and was very calm and slept very well. It was not until we got home that she erupted like Mount Vesuvius! I can hardly wait for her teen years, she says sarcastically.

The kids are trying to make the most of their last week of freedom and I am trying to keep up with the house, take the kids shopping and to their intended destinations, and answer Gabby’s non stop summoning. All this madness and it will not stop raining, which makes us feel a little cabin feverish.

Here is a slide show of all of us during the trip. We made it in for my grandma’s 77th birthday celebration with some of our family. Her birthday is the same day as mine. However, she is respectfully older so it was all about her! We also had time to visit with my friends,Linda and Angie, who finally got to see the baby!
Notice in the family pictures all the dark headed people. Gabby never had a chance :-) Also notice how many times Gabby changed hands. She was quite the hit!

Happy Father’s Day!

Here is the first ever Happy Father’s Day for the Best Dad in the whole world! Thanks for playing with us, driving us to school, buying us donuts and i Tunes, for going to Scout meetings with us and karate lessons, for taking such good care of us, for wanting the best for us, and for loving us even when we are being hard headed.  We love you dad! You are the best!

I love you, Gabe! Here is the picture you have been waiting for and I know you will appreciate its value!

We wish you were here!
