So, the house is very quiet. Weezer left me to go hang with Wanda. The kids are in school (yay!). The baby is sleeping (double yay!). I am waiting for the exterminator to arrive to rid our house of those ugly ginormous wood roaches! It rained forever here in H town and we were over run by those suckers. We even saw them trying to move their furniture in. Not gonna have it.
I am taking this very foreign and still moment to catch you all up. First Weezer made it into town on Saturday afternoon. She was immediately drawn into her grandmotherly duties and also surprised with a famous Carolina’s Potluck Gathering. My COF’s (circle of friends) arrived to welcome her, all with good eats and treats in tow. We think we amused her. We also celebrated the August birthdays and had a mini tribute to fellow Leo, Rick Springfield, whose birthday did not go unnoticed by his faithful female fans.
Weezer and I have also been making the rounds in Houston. Don’t worry, Kari. We have not hit any of the cool stores, yet, but it is nice to have another grown up to shop with and spend all of Gabe’s money with. Weezer has also been helping me keep the boys entertained and the baby rocked and cuddled. She is quite the diva. She has many arms and little helpers who want to be at her beck and call, so she is very spoiled.
Since Weezer’s arrival, I have mysteriously become the proud owner of a beautiful new coffee maker (like Kari’s) and Gabby now owns a pacifier she will take (well sometimes). She slept with it for almost 3.5 hours! I felt like I slept an entire night.
I am including a slide show of an assortment of picture taken recently. Many are of the kids and some of the big shin dig the subdivision held for the Olympian Gymnast, Jonathan Horton, outside his home when he arrived from China. Savannah also made her first Cupcake Cake solo, without mom. I also would like to thank my amigos for coming over to welcome my M-I-L. Keith, Frank, Linda, Jorge, Nadine, Shannon you are awesome!
BTW, don’t forget to scroll down and read the other recent posts by my hubby!
O.k., the bad news is our internet was down all morning after 7:00 a.m. or so. The good news is thanks to my hubby I think I am learning more about how to trouble shoot my computer and got it up and running all by myself. There is even more good news. I have more pics to post!
Today was a busy day for me. Besides the normal errand running and house chores, I had to go and wait in line at the Social Security office for over one hour and a half! I wore the wrong shoes and had to stand for all but five minutes of the wait. Then, I had to go and brave the post office. Necessary evils, just like Wal-Mart. I also had another baby’s doctor appointment. He agreed with the sonographer’s findings (i think that is what she is called) from our last visit. It looks like from his measurements and hers that the baby will be closer to eight pounds than seven at term. He says they are usually very accurate. I am nervous. For me, that would be a big baby. I told him that a lot of people around me believed otherwise, especially since they think I am small (a sentiment not shared by me). He said that I am at a very good healthy weight and it is the baby’s, not mine, whose measurements they look at to determine birth weight. We will see. I know we have a pot going on regarding the time of day she is born!
Justin and I made our daily routine of visiting the pool. We are quite the regulars there. We are both getting quite tanned. We were treated today by getting rained on while we were swimming. It was wonderful. I can not describe how cool it was to swim under the rain shower. Ah, the rough life we lead in Houston.
O.K, enough of that. I am so excited that we are getting closer to meeting Ms. Gabriela. I still think she will look like a Mexican Kari. Maybe, Gabe can doctor up a baby picture of Kari to look like a Hispanic version and we can get a preview…
Here it is! Freshly delivered from Mattress Mack (aka Gallery Furniture). Our living room did look pretty good size… Now it looks rather small. We got a couch, love seat, and over-sized chair with an ottoman. Then we got a dining table with seating for 8. Not only did we get the furniture, but they threw in lunch (hamburgers) & three full-size Gallery Furniture basketballs, one for each of the chirrens who we conveniently left at home.
After that we went to the Sketchers outlet where MBM & I got a new pair of shoes, buy one get the second pair for 1/2 price. Then we went to my ex-favorite computer store and I tried to buy something and they wanted to overcharge me. I had a little “Arnie Little” fit and left the store with nothing. Their loss.
MBM, our chirrens, our friend Cristina & her chirrens just got back from our neighborhood swimming hole. They said it was nice. I stayed home and took pictures for you all. How nice was that?
